Devices that support Lockdown Mode
As of now, Lockdown Mode can be used on any Apple device running iOS 16, macOS Ventura, or iPadOS. However, iOS 16 is only available as a developer beta, but it may soon be accessible as a public beta as well.
How does Lockdown Mode work?
Lockdown Mode offers an “extreme, optional level of security” for the ones who are targeted by the Pegasus software. This Lockdown Mode expands iOS security features just by limiting some functions that might be exposed to attack. These are:
Service requests and incoming invitations, such as FaceTime calls, are blocked if in case you never called the person beforeMajority of attachments, excluding photos are blocked. Here’s how to enable Lockdown Mode on iOS 16
First of all, go to the SETTINGS option on your deviceFrom there, choose PRIVACY & SECURITYYou will then see LOCKDOWN MODE there. Just tap TURN on Lockdown Mode and choose TURN ON & RESTART
Once you complete all these steps, your iPhone will reboot instantly and the Lockdown Mode will be enabled.
How to disable Lockdown Mode?
You can easily disable Lockdown Mode on your device. For this got o SETTINGS > PRIVACY & SECURITY > Lockdown Mode When you click on Lockdown Mode, just tap on Turn off and restart, and you are done Lockdown Mode will be rolled out for iPhone users later this year. And with this, Apple has promised to roll out more such protection to strengthen Lockdown Mode.
